yourself confused by the sheer scale of misinformation that exists
within our industry. You are certainly not alone!
Whilst there is a vast array of information available on the internet, we
know there is a clear lack of professional, independent knowledge.
You may have trawled through numerous websites and looked at countless product reviews, but
which ones can you trust?
For example, a general online search for terms like “the best water softener” or “compare water
softeners”, will either usually point toward American websites, Amazon sales blogs. There also an
abundance of articles which seem to offer independent advice but ultimately aim to promote a
certain make or model.

You may also have received conflicting advice from your local
plumber or gas engineer about what you “…can and can’t do…”
when installing a water softener, such as drinking soft water or
putting softened water into your boiler or heating system. Often,
they are unsure why this may be the case, simply stating that

The AIWSE recognised the lack of a water treatment licensing system in the UK in regards to
water softeners and water filtration so they decided to make a change. The AIWSE is a non profit
organisation, owned by its members to promote skills and ethics within the water softener
industry.
